Charleston, West Virginia, is the capital city of West Virginia and the intersection of three Interstate highways. With a metropolitan population of over 300,000, Charleston is home to various sports, recreational, and cultural events. The West Virginia Symphony Orchestra performs in the Clay Center, and the West Virginia Charleston Dirty Birds A Minor League baseball team plays blocks away at the new Appalachian Power Park.

West Virginia is now home to The New River Gorge National Park. Located in Southern West Virginia, the park encompasses over 70,000 acres of land along the New River, is rich in cultural and natural history, and offers an abundance of scenic and recreational opportunities.
